Ida Claire - San Antonio

Updated: Feb 26, 2023

If you're looking for delicious food, great staff, and refreshing cocktails in San Antonio, I highly recommend Ida Claire. We've been there on a number of occasions, whether it was a date night or taking friends there from out of town, and we've never had a bad experience. The environment is fun, and the patio is cute, complete with an air stream that you can have private parties in! We've ended up there during the week and found ourselves enjoying Home Alone for one of their Thursday Movie Nights we didn't have a clue about. It was cold that night, and we were thankful for their heaters that the staff so willingly moved around for us. We've also ended up there during their Vinyl Hour when they were playing one of my favorite albums of 2020, Folklore by Taylor Swift. They also have live music every Wednesday from 8-10 pm, but we haven't been for that yet. My birthday is today, and I chose to go there for lunch. I was not disappointed as their Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich is one of my favorite meals I've had in this city yet. The bread is delicious, and the flavor of their chicken salad is out of this world. Our server was so nice, wished me a happy birthday at least twice, and gave me a coupon for a free app to use during my next visit!

Duck Nachos

These were an interesting rendition on nachos in my opinion, but as interesting as they were, they were equally delicious. The spiced potato chips were crispy but not too crunchy, the duck was tender and melted in your mouth, and the egg was a unique twist on a nacho dish that added an element of creaminess. Would recommend!

"Water My Lawn"

The infamous Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich, mentioned above.

Bloody Mary

They made us breakfast shots, upon our request, one morning before we hit the grocery store.

Blueberry Mule from the "To Share... Or Not" portion of their cocktail menu.

I don't think this cocktail is currently on their menu but was so fun! I believe it was called the "Rub-A-Dub" (ha! I see what you guys did there) and was rum-based. My friend Darryl loved it!

Ida Claire is located at 7300 Jones Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209 near the Quarry. They have additional locations in Dallas, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida.
